Where Have All the People Gone?

“We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone. –  Orson Welles

In large cities all we see most of the time are crowds; moving to, moving fro. Sometimes when I see people alone, on their own, waiting, walking, I wonder, “Where are they going?”, “How did they get to this place?”, “Where will they be in a day, week, year?”. I am moving, they are not. We can create a story around them – a happy or a sad one, but we’ll never know.
